Bitcoin Innovation Hub

Bitcoin Innovation Hub was established in 2023 by Meron Estefanos, an international journalist and activist. Meron Estefanos is an Eritrean-Swedish human rights activist, journalist, and radio presenter. Her work has focused on advocating for the rights of refugees and migrants, particularly those from Eritrea. Meron has dedicated her career to raising awareness about human trafficking, abuse, and exploitation experienced by Eritrean refugees. Through her radio show, “Voices of Eritrean Refugees,” she amplifies the voices and stories of those affected.

Meron Estefanos relocated to Uganda in 2023 with the aim of bringing about positive change in the lives of vulnerable communities and minorities. Her passion for Bitcoin and its potential to empower refugees led her to establish the Bitcoin Innovation Hub. She recognized that Bitcoin could provide a viable solution for refugees who lack proper identification to receive remittances. Additionally, she saw the need to address poverty and incorporated skills training as an essential component of the hub’s business model.
